Transporting without nfs directory

Hello,

 

We are currently using a nfs shared /usr/sap/trans directory for TMS.

 

We would like to avoid this nfs shared directory.

 

I have been told by one of our Netweaver consultant that it is possible to have

a Landscape where each system has its own /usr/sap/trans.

Then files in /usr/sap/trans are copied by tms processes between systems thorugh rfc connections.

 

With this configuration, we do not need to share, at the OS level, the transport directory between

the different servers in the landscape.

 

1. Would you know where I could find documentation on this configuration?

 

2. If you are using this configuration, could you provide the pros and cons of this configuration?

sldapicust - which user roles required?

We have PI 7.11

 

When I use a user with role SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR in sldapicust everything works fine

(connection test in sldapicust; Start SLD Data Collection Now in rz70; sldcheck)

 

Now I'm using only role SAP_SLD_DATA_SUPPLIER and in rz70 connection test fails at

 

Testing HTTP connection to the SLD server....

An exception has occurred.

Exception in SLD client: AbapSLDRequestHandler.ping(): CIM_ERR_FAILED response code: 403 Forbidden

 

Can anyone tell me, which roles are required for user in sldapicust?

BCUSER Register Access Key

Hi,

 

This post concerns a SAP Netweaver 7.02 SP06 64-bit trial version.

I made license renewal successfully.

Now, when I would like to change an ABAP object, system ask me an access key for BCUSER.

It worked before renewal. I thought BCUSER does not need to be registered in trial version.

BDLS died during running.... unable to restart

I ran BDLS in test mode and all was OK.  I then ran it to convert and it timed out.

Apparently I forgot to up the job time.  So now BDLS won't let me restart.  It would let me put the new logical name (QAS010) in for the old (PRD010).

It has been changed in SCC4 but I KNOW it didn't make it through the nearly 2TB of tablespaces.

 

How can I restart it? OR ??

p.s. in ST22 it looks like it was in table bkpf whick has 3.2 million rows... doesn't look like it changed anything

Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) - last working release?

Hi,

 

JSPM has been replaced by SUM, but SUM does not want to work for me. Does anybody know which JSPM service package version for NW 7.31  was the last working version, before SUM was enforced? Somewhere around January - Marc 2013 should have been the last version?

Enqueue Replication Server HA

Dear friends, we are planning an HA instalation, but we have a doubt about the Enqueue Replication Server. As per my understanding, we can install en enqueue replication server (ERS) in other host (B), but in case of fail over, the sap instance needs to be started in the same host of the ERS (B) to be able to access to the lock table of the ERS.

Do you know if posible to instal the ERS in other host, and the sap instance in another? The scenario looks like:

 

 

Before Fail Over:

 

Host A: ASCS + CI.

 

Host B: Stand by Server for the failover.

 

Host C: ERS.

 

After Fail over:


Host A: Stand by Server for the failover.

 

Host B: ASCS + CI.

 

Host C: ERS.

 

Will be possible for the host B read the replicated lock table in the host C after the fail over?

The documentation says that the replicated lock table is stored in a shared memory area, then, when the instance is started in the other host (failover) is cappable to read this information form the shared memory area. But what happens if the ERS is in a separated host?

Cannot install (SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6 64-bit Version - Developer Edition)

Hi,

 

I'm trying install "SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.02 SP6 64-bit Version - Developer Edition" onto my windows 8 (64bit),

because I'd like to study ABAP programing.

 

But during installing above program, always I receive same error message.

 

The error message is,

 

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 2 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :The database installer reported an error. DIAGNOSIS: Some database applications might still be running. SOLUTION: Check the log file sdbinst.log and D:\sapdb\data\wrk\MaxDBRuntimeForSAPAS_install_ _ .log.). You can now:

Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/NW702/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.

 

 

sapinst_dev (log file is attached)

 

Can anyone help?

PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY job taking long time to finish

Hi,

 

Background job PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY is running since long. Normally it takes avg. 200 sec to finish, but today it running since 70,000 sec.

Workprocess No., PID and target server name are showing in job details tab, but no workprocess is found on the same server(with same WP no. & PID).

I am unable to troubleshoot the problem. Kindly suggest.

Hi Experts,

 

when we use DB13, click on the calender their is an error occurred...

 

500 SAP Internal Server Error

ERROR: User session (HTTP/SMTP/..) closed after timeout (termination: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE)

 

we cannot move to the next step. i attached the error screen.. can anyone help me for resolving this issue...

SUM - INPUT-USER-CREDENTIALS fails

Dear all,

 

i am trying to run SUM to update a 7.31 SP0 NetWeaver Java Stack, which runs within a Virtual Machine, but the system gets following error message when executing the step

 

"INPUT-USER-CREDENTIALS" (Input Java Administrator user credentials).

 

Could not display dialog UserPasswords. Could not execute dialog UserPasswords. See previous messages. Error while trying to validate Administrator password. Possible reason: the J2EE engine is not started. Error while trying to get initial context. com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Exception during getInitialContext operation. No server is running. [Root exception is com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Exception in creating new RemoteLoginContext instance.] com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Exception in creating new RemoteLoginContext instance. com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4RuntimeException: Unexpected exception. Nested exception is: java.io.EOFException: End of stream is reached unexpectedly during input from Socket[addr=/192.168.51.160,port=50004,localport=51407]

 

I did provide the correct user password and the J2EE is up and running. Everything else does work as normal, just the SUM does not want to work. That´s the first time I used SUM as JSPM was disabled.

 

Any help is welcome.

Problem with servers have to restart every day

Hi Experts,

 

I am facing a critical issue Every day with my cmc and launch pad are not working giving some errors.if i restart the servers its working fine but unable to find the error why it is hanging.Every day a new error is displaying and i am  unable to crack the issue.

 

please help me is there any solution for this.

During CRM upgrade in preprocessing in  MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT!,

 

Upgrade stop wih:

 

Severe error(s) occurred in phase MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT!

Last error code set: Shadow instance couldn't be started, check 'STARTSSC.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG': Process S:\SUM\abap\exe/sapcontrol.exe exited with 2, see 'S:\SUM\abap\log\SAPup.ECO' for details

I faced this problem during SPS patching at 5.5 Execution phase.

I have performed sapnote 701654 - Deployment aborts due to wrong J2EE Engine login information

but still unable to proceed

 

In the Configtool: cluster-data  >Global Server configuration  >

ume.persistence.data_source_configuration = dataSourceConfiguration_database_only.xml

ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids=SAP*  

ume.superadmin.activated=TRUE

ume.superadmin.password= sample123

On Secure Store node

admin/user/XIP = SAP*

admin/password/XIP = sample123

 

During SUM 5.3 configuration, it requested for JAVA super admin SAP* password. I have key in 'sample123'

 

 

Summary
I believe this error below is the culprit

Change in Virtual ip in MSCS SAP GROUP

HI All,

 

We are in the process of shifting to the new domain since our Production system Windows 2008 r2 MSCS. we need to build the system with system copy. Were IT will be providing the new ip range. My question is Can  we change the virtual IP of sap group after installing the new system in mscs.

At the time of actual cutover.Since all the Gui at the user end is configured with Virtual ip.g

 

Please suggested.

500 SAP internal server error

Hello Guys,

 

 

One of our user is getting an error while saving forwarding order in NWBC client 5.0.

 

 

Below is the error he is getting once he tries to save a forwarding order

 

 

500 SAP internal server error. Internal Error in SLD API (ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE)

 

 

We do not have SLD configured in our landscape since there is no solman or PI in our landscape. I tried to configure SLD locally but with no luck

 

 

I have attached the error. Can anyone help me on this

Manual Update of SAP Host Agent - saphostexec.exe Missing

Hello all,

 

i have to update manually the SAP Host Agent on a NetWeaver 7.31 Java stack and I followed the instructions on

 

Installing SAP Host Agent Manually - SAP Host Agent - SAP Library

 

As of the instructions i have to use the "saphostexec.exe", which should be part of the newer version i have downloaded... unfortunately, that is not the case and the SAR file contains far less files as the currently installed version.

 

Is the documentation not up to date or has something changed? Can I just copy & past the extracted files and overwrite the old ones in the current folder or do i have to use any other tool?

What is the most organic growth option for an SAP BASIS consultant?

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

 

I am immensely weighing the option of immense future growth as an SAP BASIS consultant. What are my options

 

1. I want to get an SAP BASIS certification in another year.

2. I want an option in the future, where the scope is immense and is organic to BASIS consultants.

3. The module should be fairly new and less explored relative to the other usual modules.(I am currently thinking of  getting HANA certifications)

 

Kindly guide me and let me know your opinions.
