We get system log error 'Operating system call recv failed (error no. 10054)' almost daily in our systems(SCM and ECC)

SCM 4.1,Kernel 640,patch 101,oracle 9.2.0.8.0

ECC6.0,Kernel700,patch 185,oracle 10.2.0.4.0

if any one have the same log entry and worked on this? please post suitable solution.

I have an external mail server that requires authentication for sending mail, therefore we have configured the SMTP_AUTH with an email account, the problem is that we can only ship to users who have that email account, and that for any other mail account indicates that it can not authenticate against the mail server.

Does anyone know how I can do?

With this profile configuration we can access portal locally using the URL: http://WD_HOSTNAME:8185 but we can't access portal externally using the public IP address and 8185 port.

Through WD webadmin GUI the application server monitor shows the server OK

But through console with command sapwebdisp.exe pf="<location of profile file>" -checkconfig we get the error

Checking J2EE servers with URL "/index.html":

Checking J2EE server http://<PORTAL HOST>:50000...not active - IGNORED

We think the problem accessing from the outside is related with the error "IGNORED".

Can anybody helps us.

First of all the relevant details of the SAP system:

NW 731/ERP 60 with SPS 06 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008.

The SAP help are CHM files.

I have installed the help for NW 731 and ERP 60

One customer need the help in the SAP system. He wants to get directly help for a transaction (e.g. SM12).

There are three behaviours of the Application help I am not understanding.

1) If I want Application Help for SM12 it just opens the performance assistant, not the libary.

2) In transaction SM13 the libary is started, but not in the related document that the user wants to read, it is on the top level (SAP libary). On a SAP-System with NW 701 SPS 08 it works like it should.

3) Another strange behaviour is that there is no CHM file (00000630.chm) for SU01. It's missing completly. Really! I have searched the for it and It is not there. I downloaded the latest help for each release. (look here for the same problem: SAP htmlhelp file for ECC 6.0 EHP6 running on NW 731)

  During the installation SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.03 64-bit Trial in Phase 2 I get below error.

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including Enhancement Package 3 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step: Error when sharing file system export (share) saploc : Incorrect function.). You can now:

• Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
• Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.
• Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/NW703/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.

I having below error when ran the reports FP_TEST_00 and FP_PDF_TEST_00.

My system is NW701.

ERROR CODE    : 100.101

ERROR MESSAGE : SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport : HTTP receive failed with exception communication_failure

SOAP Framework error: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport : HTTP receive failed with exception communication_failure(100.101).

I have checked SAP Note 944221 but still cannot solved my issue.

I have taken below steps.

- Restart SAP instance.

- Test connection in SM59 - ADS - working fine.

- test the service ( SICF>default host>sap>bc>fp or fpads), no error prompt but with blank page, and getting the mention error when run FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE

- http://../wsnavigator - working fine

- Visual admin , destination test - get response code 200.

Please advise if you have any idea.

Once again i am here ,i am facing the error with SAP GUI ,I have maintained the details Of Application Server and Instance ID correctly.And

it was not connecting ,I have checked the MMC thoroughly ,but after certain restart of the instances also it was not connected please help

We are implementing SAP GRC Access control 10,1 in our System.

System config is :

SAP ECC EHP7 with HANA Database.

while testing the grc service from sicf, i found that it is not working with error " default host can not be access"

going further my virtual host test is also failing with error "could not find host or port information"

I tried to restart the ICM service bt it did not help.

Any suggestion please.

We have configured High Availability of the LDAP Data Source for JAVA systems.They are working fine.We have followed below link to accomplish it.

We have a Webdisp with url https://abc.xyzglobal.com which will be redirecting to our portal server def.xyz.local, and we have backend system ECC and BI with ghi.xyz.local and jkl.xyz.local

Here xyz.local is our domain name.

We had purchased the SSL Certificates from GEOTrust (TrueBusinedID with 5SAN)

*Website URL to secure:   https://abc.xyzglobal.com/

Additional SAN are def.xyz.local ,ghi.xyz.local , jkl.xyz.local

Now my problem is I need to renew the cerificate as it is going to be expired

When i Try to renew the purchase of certificate i get a error sayin that

Due to new CA/Browser Forum changes, we no longer support internal server names or IP addresses for certificates that expire after November 1, 2015. Shorten your validity period or enter a fully qualified domain name to continue.

their customer support says they will not provide SSL Certifciates for .local domains as per the new policy.

So if i take the new certificate for th URL  https://abc.xyzglobal.com/  and renew the dispatcher certificate do i face any issue with other SSL Errors?

Iam in very confused state on how to proceed further, can any one guide me in resolving this issue.

For the implementation project, issue with the Project life cycle

1)Requester has created an change Request for example :80000500

2)Change Manager will log-in and identify the type of Request (Normal,general,admin Request and send for approval )

change the status to approved .

before approving Change manager will change the project life cycle.

here i was not able to find the change Request Number in Project life cycle (80000500)

3)Developer , Tester and IT Operator workflow perfectly till quality system

4)when IT Operator was to import the Request to Production

I am getting an error like Change the life cycle to go-live, But change Request is not visible in Project life cycle

Hello SAP colleagues,

I have a solid 6 years of industry and consulting experience in the Basis field leading multiple project lifecycles and modules.  I feel I have a strong foundation administering many SAP products.  Even more stronger on things like infrastructure assessments, strategy, planning, and execution for the areas / technologies that often come up in a SAP project.  However, at this point I can’t really say I am a “specialist” in a given SAP area.  Below are some areas I was thinking about pursuing with notes.  I know HANA might be a common response and just want to mention that I would be looking to certify in that regardless (I do have some hands-on already) as I think at this point HANA should be even on the generalists’ list of skill sets.

BI / BW / Business Objects– I believe analytics will continue to have a strong future and this seems to be in most demand compared to other areas.  I also have some experiences to leverage.
SRM / Sourcing / MDM-Catalogue– this would be an easy focus for me due to previous experiences.
Solution Manager– there would be a little learning curve but not too much due to previous experiences.  There is a more configuration and services providing aspect from the administrator standpoint that I think is good.
Gateway– I think this has a good future, but does not seem to be too in demand.
Mobility– I think this has a great future, but interestingly does not seem to have a lot of demand (at least for non-consultant positions) on job boards.
Process Orchestration– sounds interesting, but does not seem to be too in demand.
LVM– sounds interesting, but does not seem to be too in demand.
SAP Security– I actually would not mind trying my hand at SAP Security and have done enough basic tasks already to not need too large a learning curve.  Security is pegged as a top IT priority for years to come.  Also the middle of night off hour calls would not be as bad in this field.

What are your suggestions on these or other area(s) to pursue?  Right now I’m wavering between choosing one of the BI, SRM, SolMan, and Security routes.  Feel free to direct message me if needed.
